What We Do

Route Surveys, Permits, and Escort — Under One Roof

Overheight and superload freight doesn't move on guesswork. We handle the three pieces that have to line up before a load ever leaves the yard.

SVC / 01

Route Surveys

Physical, on-the-ground surveys for overheight and superload moves — bridges, overhangs, wires, and tight turns checked before your driver ever sees them.

  • Bridge & overhead clearance verification
  • Utility line height checks
  • Turn radius & lane width analysis
  • Photo-documented survey reports
SVC / 02

Permit Coordination

State-by-state permit acquisition for oversize and overweight moves, including multi-state routing and axle configuration review.

  • Single & multi-state permits
  • Axle weight & configuration checks
  • Superload permit applications
  • Permit renewal tracking
SVC / 03

Pilot Car Escort

A vetted, nationwide contractor network providing height pole, lead, and chase escort for compliant, on-time delivery.

  • Height pole escort vehicles
  • Lead & chase car coordination
  • Law enforcement escort scheduling
  • Real-time route communication

How A Load Moves With Us

THREE STEPS, START TO FINISH
1

Survey The Route

We walk the route before the load does — flagging every clearance issue that could stop a driver cold.

2

Secure The Permits

We file, track, and confirm every state permit your route requires, matched to your exact dimensions.

3

Escort The Load

Our contractor network gets in position — pole car, lead, and chase — and stays in contact until delivery.

Beyond The LoadNew

DOT & FMCSA Compliance Services

Getting a carrier legal is its own kind of route survey — one wrong turn in registration or authority can ground a fleet before it ever hauls a load.

We help carriers and owner-operators navigate the federal registration maze: new authority setup, ongoing filings, and the paperwork that keeps a USDOT number in good standing.

Designation of process agents in every state your authority requires, filed and kept current.

03

UCR Registration

Annual Unified Carrier Registration filings tracked and renewed so you're never caught lapsed.

04

Ongoing Compliance Monitoring

Renewal deadlines, filing changes, and registration updates tracked year-round — one less thing on your plate.

About M2K

Built By People Who've Stood At The Bridge Clearance

M2K Permit & Pilot Car works the oversize/overweight freight lane exclusively — route surveys, permits, and escort for heavy haul carriers and 3PLs who can't afford a load stuck under a bridge.

We built our contractor network the way this industry runs: on relationships, not marketplaces. Every survey and escort assignment goes to someone we've vetted directly, not the lowest bid on a board.

Whether you're a carrier running your first superload or a broker managing a regular heavy-haul lane, we plug in as the permit and logistics layer that keeps freight legal, on time, and off the evening news.

Questions We Get A Lot

Before You Call, Here's What Most Carriers Ask

How far in advance do we need to book a route survey?

For most overheight moves, 3–5 business days gives us enough time to survey the route and flag any clearance issues. Superloads or unusual routes can take longer — reach out as soon as you know the move is happening.

Do you handle permits in every state along a route?

Yes. We coordinate multi-state permits so you're not managing separate applications and timelines yourself — one point of contact for the whole route.

What's the difference between a pilot car and a height pole escort?

A standard pilot car leads or trails the load to manage traffic and visibility. A height pole escort runs a physical pole set to your load's exact height, so it contacts overhead obstructions before your load does.

Can you help if we're not DOT-compliant yet?

Yes — our compliance services cover USDOT and MC authority setup, BOC-3 filing, and UCR registration, so you can get legal and start moving loads.

Do you work with owner-operators or only larger carriers?

Both. Whether you're running one truck or managing a fleet, the survey, permit, and escort process works the same way — we scale to the size of your operation.
